Single Missing Tooth Warrnambool
Many people lose one tooth due to gum disease, tooth decay, or accidents.
A permanent partial denture (bridge), a removable partial denture, or a dental implant are all common treatments for single tooth replacements.
These choices offer advantages, but implants are typically regarded as the most effective.

“Quality is never an accident; it is the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skilful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.”
Tooth Replacement Options
There are numerous ways to repair lost teeth. And there isn’t a single choice that works best for every patient or circumstance.
Age isn’t a hindrance to dental implants because they are typically the most conservative and long-lasting tooth replacement alternative.
An examination and X-rays of your jaw will be performed by a periodontist specialising in implant dentistry to determine which procedure is appropriate for you.
Here is some extra information about each to help you feel more confident in your choice.
1. Single Crown
At the clinic, we offer crowns of various grade quality. To fill in a missing gap, these ” caps ” are put on top of the tooth to restore its previous appearance, feel, and functionality. A crown also covers a dental implant. The final aesthetic outcome will be determined by the various materials used to make this.
2. Fixed Dental Bridge
Fixed bridges can be an excellent choice to restore the lost tooth, but often only in situations when dental implants cannot be implanted. The adjacent, healthy teeth serve as the anchors for a permanent bridge. To support a fixed bridge, several nearby teeth must be permanently compromised by drilling down multiple teeth.
3. Dentures
Removable partial dentures – are made of prosthetic teeth that rest on a base of gum-coloured plastic and are held together by a metal support system.
Several metal clasps are then used to secure the partial to the gum line. Many patients express dissatisfaction with the bulky denture and the metal appearance after it has been placed.
Complete denture – restores all of the lost teeth in a single jaw and is composed of acrylic. Certain persons can adapt to complete dentures. Some people find them unsettling or even intolerable.
For lower dentures, this is especially true. Complete dentures require similar maintenance to detachable PARTIAL dentures, including periodic removal to clean beneath them and soak time in a cleaning solution before bed.
Under them, food gets caught, making eating uncomfortable. Dentures get harder to retain in the mouth without falling out as the jaw continues to deteriorate over time.
4. Dental Implants
The majority of single tooth replacements are currently thought to be best handled with dental implants. They are the most natural treatment since they resemble the missing tooth and root.
The titanium implant osseointegrates into the surrounding bone and tissue. This technique creates a solid and tight attachment, allowing the implant to function like a natural tooth.
The implant provides structural support to the surrounding bone and tissue, enabling normal chewing and speech while preserving the remaining teeth, gums, and bone health.
Although implants offer a more permanent solution, the crown of an implant may need to be replaced after extended use.
Like any other tooth, your implant needs daily brushing and flossing as well as twice-yearly dental exams in order to be properly cared for and maintained.
Your implant can provide a lifetime of natural-feeling teeth without affecting your ability to chew or speak, provided you practise good oral hygiene.
We are here to help you answer these & more questions thoroughly.

1. Are dental implants right for me?
Natural teeth and dental implants require robust jaw bones to hold them in place. If you want to replace your teeth with dental implants, you may need to have a scan of the area where they will be placed. Dental X-rays will still be required to assess your mouth architecture and bone levels.
2. Is dental implant surgery painful?
Most individuals are shocked to hear that dental implant surgery is comparatively low intrusive. Typically, over-the-counter minor pain medication will suffice. Sedation may be preferable if you require related dental surgery, such as a sinus lift, extractions, or bone transplant.
